Intellectual Disability (Mental Retardation)
Intellectual disability means someone might have trouble learning, reasoning and managing daily tasks such as talking, self-care and interacting. This usually shows up before a child turns 18.
Besides intellectual disability, such individuals may experience muscle challenges (such as cerebral palsy), have seizures, see or hear poorly or struggle with attention (such as ADHD). Children who struggle more often face a lot of these other issues as well. Kids with more serious difficulties often have more of these other problems too.
What Causes It?
Intellectual disability can happen for different reasons. It might be because of genetic conditions like Down syndrome or from injuries or problems in the brain before or after birth.
How Can It Be Helped?
No easy cure exists, but a lot can be done to help people function better daily. It means having special lessons, therapy sessions and help from medical workers and caregivers. Some natural medicines, like our CFS-QR tablets, may help with things like focus and coordination.
Important:
It is better to consult or take advice from a healthcare professional before taking any tablets, including our CFS -QR, to make sure they are safe and suitable for your child.
